November 12, 2009 - As a guest speaker during Middle Tennessee State University’s Global Entrepreneurship Week, Rich Miles will present “Ego and Pride: Driving Success & Failure” on Friday, November 20 at 3:30 p.m. in the State Farm Lecture Hall of MTSU’s Business and Aerospace Building.
Miles describes the ideal CEO as someone who can “wear worn-out jeans and hunting boots in the morning, then put on a tuxedo at night – and be equally comfortable in either situation”. His presentation will provide lessons drawn from his experiences on how ego and personal pride can drive entrepreneurs to riches – or to ruin. Following the initial presentation, he will share discussion time with attendees.

September 11, 2009 - After more than three decades of running Rail Petroleum Co., the Hendrickson family was running out of gas.
Growing competition from larger local players like Hollingsworth Oil and TriStar Energy — along with the ever-increasing need for investments in new technology — had the family working seven days a week to keep the Gallatin business on track.
“Things had changed so much over the past two decades,” said Todd Hendrickson, one of the founder’s sons. “We were feeling overwhelmed with the speed of things in the industry.”

August 31, 2009 – Rail Petroleum Company has completed the sale of certain retail assets to H&S Properties of Springfield, TN, and certain wholesale assets to Seay Oil Company of Hopkinsville, KY.
Founded in 1976 by the late Robert Hendrickson, Rail Petroleum Company was a wholesale and retail distributor of petroleum products. The company also owned, operated and leased gas stations and convenience stores in Gallatin and Lafayette. H&S Properties owns and operates convenience stores in the Gallatin area. Seay Oil Company is a petroleum and oil distributor operating in five states and 206 counties, covering a market area of 250 miles.
After the death of Robert Hendrickson earlier this year, Todd, Scott and Bette Hendrickson continued Rail Petroleum operations as company president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer, respectively. Todd and Scott Hendrickson will continue to service their wholesale customers through an agreement with Seay Oil Company. CAPSTONE Business Advisors, LLC and Keystone Realty Services, Inc. served as financial advisors to Rail Petroleum Company.
